Hawaii Residents Deal With Quakes and Ash


Joe Laceby watches as ash rises from the summit crater of Kilauea volcano on Thursday. A pre-dawn eruption of the volcano sent a plume of ash 30,000 feet into the sky. Laceby says he has sealed up his home and has gas masks to protect from ash. (May 17)
